Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has blamed BNP for harming the country by creating hostile relations with India.

"But we do not want harm, Awami League wants friendly relations. This relationship is in our national interest." Quader made these comments at a meeting held at Bangabandhu Avenue on Thursday.

"Except some parts of Myanmar, India has spread around us. So, we will solve the problem on the discussion table. Zia-Khaleda Zia created a wall of doubt and mistrust. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke this wall. We don't want to go back twenty one years ago."

An unfriendly relationship was prevailing between Bangladesh and India during the tenures of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, its incumbent chairperson Khaleda Zia and late president HM Ershad, he said.
