Varsity teachers continue to observe anti-pension strike

Teachers, officials and employees of all public universities are observing work abstention boycotting their classes and examinations again after the weekly holidays.

They have been observing the movement demanding withdrawal of new pension scheme, offering super grade in teachers' salaries and announcing a separate pay structure for them.

Leaders of the Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) observed sit-in demonstration on the Dhaka University campus on Sunday.

They also pledged to not retreat from their movement until their demands are not met.

Work abstention is also going on at different universities outside Dhaka. Teachers, officials and employees have taken part in the movement boycotting classes, examinations and academic activities at different universities including Jahangirnagar University, Rajshahi University, Chattogram University, Rajshahi University and Khulna University. They also demanded withdrawal of new universal pension system as quickly as possible.
