3 killed as bus collides with train in Chattogram

Daily Bangla Times: Three people were killed as a passenger bus collided with an oil-laden train in the EPZ area of Chattogram tonight. The deceased are Md Azizul Haque, 30, Md Asaduzzaman, 30, and Mitan Kanti dey, 25. Azizul was a pointsman of Bangladesh Railway.

The incident took place after the bus entered the rail track defying Azizul's signal in front of the Megna Oil Company on Airport Road at around 9:40pm.

"Taking oil from Padma, Meghna and Jamuna depots in Patenga, the train was heading towards its destination. The passenger bus hit the train defying the pointsman's signal leaving two dead on the spot," Deputy Commissioner of CMP Port Division Shakila Soltana told The Daily Star.

An injured passenger died on the way to Chattogram Medical College Hospital Hospital, she added. At least 7 to 8 injured people, who were on the bus, were taken to CMCH, she said. The bodies were sent to the CMCH morgue.
