Amar Ekushey Book Fair has been extended for two days as organisers decided to continue it till March 2. Ministry of Cultural Affairs Secretary Khalil Ahmed confirmed the matter to the media on Tuesday night.

He said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved the application of extending two days. So the book fair will continue till March 2." Meanwhile, Bangla Academy director general Mohammad Nurul Huda announced the matter on the book fair premises around 9:00 pm. He said, "the time of the fair has been extended with the kind consent of the Prime Minister." Earlier on February 18, Bangladesh Publishers and Booksellers Association (BAPUS) submitted an application to extend the time.
