Daily Bangla Times: The highest temperature of the country this season was recorded at Ishwardi in Pabna at 43 degrees Celsius at 3:00 pm on Monday (April 17).
Nazmul Haque, observer of Ishwardi Meteorological Office, confirmed this. Meanwhile, due to severe heatwave, the number of people on the streets and markets has reduced.
People’s life in Ishwardi has become unbearable due to extreme heatwave for the last 15 days. Working people have fallen in immense sufferings because of the heatwave.
Rickshaw and autorickshaw drivers are panting in the heat. Apart from this, water is not coming up through the tubewell as the underground water level has gone down. As a result, severe water shortage has also occurred across the upazila, local residents said.
Meanwhile, young men and women are taking baths in the cold water of the deep irrigation tubewell to get some relief.
