Online Desk : At least three Bangladeshi nationals are among the dead after Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, according to an official.

The deceased were identified as Dr Abdus Samad, his wife (unnamed as of yet), and another Hosne Ara Farid, Shafiqur Rahman Bhuiyan, Bangladesh’s honorary consul in Auckland informed quoting local residents.

There are eight other Bangladeshis who were hurt in the gun attacks, Shafiqur Rahman Bhuiyan added.

Among the injured, Sajeda Akhter, Omar Faruq, Rubel and Muhtasim are attending treatment in a critical condition. “Some other Bangladeshis are still missing,” he said further.

Police detaned three men and one woman suspecting their connection to the mosques attacks.

According to latest media reports, forty people have been killed and several others injured in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand's city of Christchurch in an unprecedented attack in the quiet country in the Pacific.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh cricket team players now in Christchurch, survived the attack by narrow margin and are now safe. They were going to one of the mosques to offer prayers when the incident took place, and later were taken back to team hotel safely.
