Daily bangla times : The year 2022 saw the highest number of fatalities in road crashes in Bangladesh in the last eight years.

At least 9,951 people were killed, and 12,356 people injured in 6,749 reported road accidents across Bangladesh last year, according to Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity (BJKS).

The numbers were revealed by the Secretary General of BJKS Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Monday.

Meanwhile, some 550 people were killed and 201 were injured in 606 train related accidents in 2022, he also said.

Besides, 357 people died, 318 were injured, and 743 went missing in 262 riverine accidents last year, he added.
