Bangladesh has proudly etched its name in international football history by securing the runners-up position in the world-renowned La Liga Youth Tournament 2025, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This marks Bangladesh’s first-ever participation in the tournament, and the team’s performance has set a new benchmark in the country’s sports arena. The under-16 team, representing Zafrani Sporting Club, showcased remarkable talent and determination throughout the competition, defeating strong contenders including Spain, India, and Pakistan, before facing hosts Malaysia in a nail-biting final match at the UPM Stadium.
In a fiercely contested game, Malaysia clinched the championship title by scoring the lone goal in the 35th minute. Despite the narrow loss, Team Bangladesh's exceptional journey to the finals earned them the runners-up trophy, bringing immense pride to the nation.
The historic participation was made possible through Hello Superstars, an innovative mobile application platform that enabled online registration for the tournament directly from Bangladesh. Following a comprehensive selection and training process conducted by the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), Zafrani Sporting Club was approved to represent the country on the international stage.
The Bangladeshi delegation, led by Hello Superstars, departed for Malaysia on July 10, and delivered an unforgettable performance. The success story reached a crescendo when Mr. Daniel Wong, official representative of La Liga Youth Tournament, handed over the runners-up trophy and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kamrul Ahsan, Founder of Hello Superstars and Zafrani Sporting Club. He praised Dr. Ahsan’s vision, leadership, and international network that enabled Bangladesh’s debut in the globally acclaimed tournament.
“This achievement is not just a milestone for Zafrani Sporting Club, but a proud moment for all of Bangladesh. We believe this will open new doors for our youth in the global sports arena,” said Dr. Kamrul Ahsan.
The 2025 La Liga Youth Tournament has become a turning point for Bangladeshi football, igniting hope and ambition for future generations of athletes.
